as you can see the information above references Wikipedia although there are many more topics about SEM or Search Engine Marketing defined. There are comparisons of SEM to that of SEO and their differences. In short and simplistic terms, they are BOTH processes by which when used correctly helps to increase a website’s visibility on the internet. As you might imagine, your placement or standing on the internet involves your budget, how much you’re willing to spend on Ads to get to and stay on the first page of Google. It’s a Highly Competitive process and don’t let someone tell you any different. These two processes are like synonymous with each other really. You almost can’t have one without the other because of their reliance on each other when it comes to driving traffic, increasing visibility, etc., on the internet.
SEM is used in the filtering of research and information, that ultimately helps a website to be better positioned in the submitting or submission of a website within search engines. This world of marketing is
EXTREMELY Competitive! There are literally
Millions and Millions of Business websites all trying to be seen to market and sell their products to the marketplace, (The World). See what
WordStream has to say about it. (
Search Engine Marketing defined)
Although you don’t want to rely solely on search engines alone to bring you, members, clients, and customers, they shouldn’t be ignored either. SEO strategies are free and the search engines are always crawling and ranking websites, so it doesn’t hurt you in helping them to find your website on this highly competitive internet platform.
The first step is to use titles, keywords, and descriptions in your meta tag code. This is what search engines read to learn about and rank your website. Your front-side content that your website visitors see should also have titles and keywords, as search engines scan this as well. Simultaneously, have your SEM integrated into your efforts congruently as well. It makes for a much stronger and compelling strategy giving you a stronger edge over your competition.
